HGTV has signed Mark Burnett to take over the production of its highest-rated series HGTV Design Star.
The producer of Survivor and his team will work on the fifth season of the prime-time series, taking over duties from 495 Productions.
“The Mark Burnett team is extremely creative and talented—masters at crafting entertaining reality programming,” said Freddy James, senior vp of programming, HGTV. “We expect that they will infuse HGTV Design Star with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that will serve as a blueprint for a successful fifth season.”
