KPHO, Meredith Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate in Phoenix, Ariz. said Wednesday (Dec. 10) that retransmission negotiations with Cable One are stalled. If the two parties cannot come to an arrangement by Dec. 31, Cable One will be forced to pull KPHO’s signal.

According to Ed Munson, vp and and general manager of KPHO, Cable One is unwilling to pay to carry the station. “They would rather pay money for lightly viewed cable channels,” Munson said.

The spat comes at a time when the industry is preparing to switch to digital broadcasting Feb.
