CNN has announced a new chief White House correspondent. Jessica Yellin is taking over the post from Ed Henry, who left CNN to become chief White House correspondent at Fox News last week. Henry is the second high-profile CNN reporter to jump to Fox this year.
Yellin was previously a national political correspondent at CNN, where she frequently reported for Wolf Blitzer's The Situation Room. She joined CNN from ABC News in 2007, where she'd worked as a White House correspondent. Yellin got her start in national news as an overnight anchor at MSNBC.
“Jessica Yellin has emerged as one of the leading political reporters in Washington, ” CNN Washington bureau chief Sam Feist said in a statement announcing her appointment. “Jessica’s assertiveness along with her clever insight made her one of the top reporters of the 2008 campaign and has already set her apart in her reporting on the 2012 campaign.”
