Yesterday, reports surfaced that Comcast could be selling its floundering G4 channel to the Ultimate Fighting League. Now analysts are estimating that the channel’s sale could fetch as much as $600 million, according to the New York Post.
G4 reaches 60 million U.S. homes, and could ask for $5 to $10 dollars per home, according to analysts David Joyce of Miller Tabak and David Bank of RBC, adding up to the $600 million figure at the high end. (More broadly distributed cable channels could get as much as $20 per subscriber.) However, people inside the G4 sale said that the negotiations are early, so a deal may not necessarily happen.
