FremantleMedia has taken a 60 percent stake in @radical.media, a creator of advertising and branded entertainment content.

@radical Jon Kamen (shown) continues as chairman and CEO.

FremantleMedia chief exec Tony Cohen disclosed the deal during the company’s press breakfast at Mipcom in Cannes, France. He said the deal “allows both organizations to develop more on- and off-screen content for broadcasters and brands.”

The companies have teamed up since 2008 via a division called FremantleMedia Enterprises, which has developed projects such as the TV series Iconoclasts on the Sundance Channel, Britney: For the Record and the table tennis tournament Hardbat Classic on ESPN.
