Forecast: Radio Revenue Down 11% in Top 50 Markets

Following last year’s pattern, radio stations in the top 50 markets are expected to have a tougher time turning around business in 2009. According to a BIA Advisory Services forecast published Thursday (March 26), radio revenue in the top 50 markets will decline 11 percent. Better able to harness local advertising, radio revenue in midsized and small markets will be slightly better, down 9.64 percent.

Overall, 2009 is shaping up to be a tougher year than 2008, when revenue fell 8.5
