Fisher Communications has signed a consulting and licensing agreement with ACME Communications to manage the operations and create new digital revenue opportunities for The Daily Buzz morning TV program that airs on 161 stations.
Troy McGuire, a former executive producer of The Daily Buzz and Fisher's vp of digital content will also oversee operations of the three-hour show.
Under the agreement announced Wednesday (April 21), Fisher will license certain assets of the three-hour program in order to produce new content and revenue opportunities for both broadcast and digital platforms catering to The Daily Buzz's younger-skewing audience.
"As we expand our broadcast-to-broadband initiative, we are looking to create compelling digital content that will be localized by market and distributed across multiple platforms, including The Daily Buzz show and the Internet," said Randa Minkarah, svp of Business Development for Fisher. "Similar to our hyperlocal initiative, this latest effort provides TV stations with another means to compete for a larger base of advertisers, by offering stations' advertisers a cross-platform solution at attractive price points."
