A closely contested AFC South showdown between Vince Young’s Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans gave ESPN a shot in the arm last night (Nov. 23), as the latest installment of Monday Night Football drew 12.1 million viewers.
The Titans’ 20-17 victory out-drew the prior week’s Browns-Ravens skirmish by 19 percent, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings data. (Averaging 10.2 million viewers, the Nov. 16 MNF telecast now stands as the lowest-rated of the 2009-10 NFL campaign.)
As has been the case every week of the season, last night’s MNF beat out all other Monday night broadcasts among the key male demos and viewers 18-34.
Through the first 11 weeks of the season, ESPN’s MNF is averaging 14 million total viewers, up 14 percent from last season.
