Black will begin his new duties Aug. 24.

For the past eight years, Black ran KCTV and KSMO-TV, Meredith’s CBS and MyNetworkTV duopoly in Kansas City, Mo. A year ago, he also took on additional responsibilities as senior vp of Meredith’s Local Media Group, overseeing national sales operations in Chicago and Los Angeles, and eastern operations hub in Atlanta.
