Belo’s stations will not go dark Dec. 31 on Charter Communications lineups in 11 markets. On Monday (Dec. 29), the two parties announced they reached an agreement in principle that covered the retransmission of the analog and high-definition signals for 14 stations, and for carriage of two of the company’s 24-hour news channels, Northwest Cable News and Texas Cable News.

Terms were not disclosed.

Belo stations, which warned viewers on station Web sites of the standoff, had originally let it be known they were seeking a penny a day per subscriber from Charter to air the station’s signal.
