Actually, 'The Killing' Is Going to Be Back on AMC After All

No truth to the straight-to-Netflix rumors

It's official: AMC's hotly debated crime drama The Killing will return to the network for a third season, despite having been apparently canceled and then reportedly sold to Netflix to continue its life in the streaming service's lineup of originals. Rumors of the revival swirled last month, but the network confirmed the show's return to cable this afternoon.

The network is not keeping everything the same, however. For one thing, AMC was quick to say that the third season's case "will be resolved over the course of the 12 episodes," laying to rest the biggest complaint about Season 1, namely that viewers never found out whodunit.
