In another sign that the display ad market is becoming increasingly healthy, Yahoo said its global display ad revenue jumped 17 percent during Q3 of this year.
According to the company’s just-released earnings report, display ad revenue on Yahoo’s own-and-operated properties has increased by 18 percent so far in 2010. That’s another strong sign for the online display ad market, which declined in 2009. Last week, Google announced that its display ad business was trending toward an annual revenue haul of $2.5 billion.
Yahoo’s overall revenue climbed 2 percent in Q3 versus Q2 to over $1.6 billion. Search remains a weak spot for the company, as revenues declined by seven percent. However by the end of this year, its search ad partnership with Microsoft should be up and running, possibly providing a significant revenue increase.
