Winstar Interactive Media Lands Continental Sales Pact

Online rep firm Winstar Interactive Media has landed an exclusive deal to sell advertising on Continental Airlines’ Web site.

The move by Continental is noteworthy, given that many airline sites—and most ecommerce sites in general—sell little to no third party advertising. But Continental and Winstar are banking on the appeal among brands of reaching the site’s 10 million monthly unique users, most of whom are in a trip-planning frame of mind.

“Advertisers on Continental.com will have the opportunity to engage business and leisure travelers during a crucial time in their travel planning process when they are making specific purchasing decisions about their upcoming trip,” said Winstar Interactive CEO Adam Guild.

Currently Winstar represent inventory on several other travel and leisure oriented sites, including Fodors.com
