Verizon Brings iPhone Functionality to Home Phone

Verizon Wireless is looking to bring iPhone-like function and cool to the home phone with the launch of the new Verizon Hub.

The company announced that the new Verizon Hub phone, which hits the market on Feb. 1, will feature a touch screens much like Apple’s mega-popular iPhone. Plus, the high-tech home phone will work using any wireless broadband connection, including DSL or the high speed Internet services typically provided by cable companies.

The idea behind Hub, according to Verizon executives, is to shift the average home phone away from being a device just used to make calls toward becoming  the central electronic organizer of one’s life.
