From Gannett headquarters in McLean, Va. comes word that USA Today, the nation’s top-selling newspaper, will be launching next Monday, Aug. 3, its first e-Edition as an exact replica version of USA Today featuring additional interactive and exclusive content. It will also include a Saturday-Sunday edition called USA Today Extra, "the first-ever regular weekend product from USA Today, available only to print edition and e-Edition subscribers."

More from the release follows:

“USA Today is perfectly modeled to suit all the new and emerging technologies we are seeing in the marketplace,” said Dave Hunke, president and publisher, USA Today. “We’re very pleased to be able to bring the e-Edition to our readers and we will continue to look for new platforms to grow on.”

USA Today’s e-Edition is a page-by-page, exact replica edition of the newspaper delivered by 5:30 a.m. ET. Subscribers will receive an email notification each morning alerting them to their e-Edition delivery. The e-Edition may be read online or downloaded for later use.

The digital subscriptions will be provided as a companion to home and business subscribers of the print product. The e-Edition is also available as a digital subscription only. USA Today’s e-Edition will offer two introductory pricing structures: A 52-week digital subscription for $99; and an eight-week trial subscription for $9.95, which will renew to $9.95 every four weeks.
