Back in February Twitter announced a self-serve ad platform for small businesses to run Promoted Tweet and Promoted Account campaigns. To get advertisers on board, the company partnered with American Express to dangle a carrot (in the form of a $100 ad credit) for the first 10,000 Amex cardmembers and merchants who signed up.
Now Twitter is once again pulling that carrot of its hat with a promotion timed to American Express’s annual Small Business Saturday, which takes place this weekend and encourages consumers to spend with local merchants. As with the previous promotion, the first 10,000 businesses to sign up receive $100 in Twitter ad inventory.
Unlike its predecessor, however, this deal is not limited to Amex cardmembers and merchants; though it is restricted to businesses with U.S. billing accounts that have never before advertised on Twitter.
