Twitter Acquires Native Advertising Company Namo Media

Beefs up MoPub reach

Twitter has purchased native advertising firm Namo Media to beef up the company’s native advertising business.

Terms of the deal were not announced, and Namo Media’s Technology will be directly integrated into Twitter’s MoPub platform. The social network bought MoPub in September and rolled out an ad-buying platform in December that lets marketers buy native ads in apps like Tango that appear in news feeds and messages.

"At Twitter we’ll continue to work on building the best native advertising platform for app developers with the goal of continuing to improve the native ad landscape for all mobile app developers," Nano Media said in a blog post.

The Namo Media acquisition gives Twitter one more piece of ammunition in competing with Facebook head-on for brand dollars as more budgets move towards native and mobile ads.
