Tribune Serves Up The Syndicate

NEW YORK The Tribune Co. has launched The Syndicate, which it describes as “a new online multimedia content marketplace bringing the latest news, lifestyle stories and sports reports to visitors of Tribune Co.’s television and newspaper Web sites.”

According to the company: “Web site visitors now can learn about the topics they care about — news, business and entertainment — through interactive elements such as videos, photos, graphics, trivia and quizzes.”

The content comes from Tribune’s 23 television stations and newspaper Web sites, 17 TV stations owned by Local TV, and various outside entities.

“Our mission is to super-serve our Web site visitors around the clock,” said Andy Friedman, vp, interactive content for Tribune Interactive.
