New York Times' Google Glass App Reads Stories to You

Among the first brands to develop application for wearable device

The New York Times is one of the initial major publishers to unveil a Google Glass app, which will allow the currently scant number of users of the wearable device to access stories on the go. The app's audio component reads headlines and story summaries aloud and provides breaking news alerts.

Per an NYT rep, who via email referred to the app as a "lightweight service," it recently was built on Google Mirror API. The Times' app requests permission to access basic information from users' Google accounts as well as their locations.
