NBCU's Perrette Expands Distribution Duties

Jean-Briac Perrette, NBC Universal's president of digital distribution, is expanding his portfolio to oversee broadcast distribution and affiliate relations. The move brings NBC's content distribution on all platforms under one umbrella.

In his new role as president of digital and affiliate distribution and content-distribution strategy, Perrette will continue to lead NBC Uni's digital-distribution efforts, forming alliances with Internet sites, mobile carriers and aggregators. He also will be in charge of the company's broadcast-distribution relationships, working closely with John Eck, president of NBC Network and Media Works.

The affiliate-relations and marketing teams led by Jean Dietze and Scot Chastain will report to Perrette, with the latter maintaining a dotted-line reporting relationship to John Miller, chief marketing officer at NBC Uni TV Group and president of the NBC Agency.

Perrette will continue to report to Jeff Gaspin, Universal TV Group's president and COO.

Since taking over NBC Uni's digital distribution in 2006, Perrette has led its efforts in the formation of Hulu—the company's online-video venture with News Corp., Providence Equity Partners and Disney—and orchestrated distribution deals with such emerging platforms as iTunes, Amazon and Xbox as well as wireless partnerships with AT&T, Verizon and FLO TV.

Perrette serves on the boards of Hulu, Peacock Equity Fund, MSNBC.com and A&E TV Networks.
