Cameron Death has been promoted to svp and gm of NBC Universal Digital Studio. Death, who joined NBCU in 2008, was previously vp, digital content.

Under Death's tenure, NBCU has continued to experiment in the still unproven original Web series space. Recent projects include two projects born from short films: the office comedy Ctrl, sponsored by Coca-Cola; and the Law & Order spoof Fact Checker’s Unit, sponsored by Samsung.

Death, who will continue to report to NBC Universal Digital Entertainment president Vivi Zigler, was also behind the much hyped sci fi series Gemini Division, which starred actress Rosario Dawson. More recently the studio has evolved its focus to include more branded entertainment series. "[Death] thinks big and is fearless, and as a result, has successfully taken on unchartered territory," said Zigler. "We look forward to the ways in which Cameron will continue to extend the Studio’s reach and impact and push the limits in his new role."
