NBC Local City Sites See Growth

The transformation of NBC Local Media’s traditional TV Web sites into city-centric destination ones appears to be paying off. Relaunched less than two years ago, the city sites in markets such as New York, Philadelphia and Chicago, are drawing larger and more engaged audiences, the company reported Tuesday (Oct. 5).

Monthly unique visits across the 10 sites increased 20 percent in August 2010 compared August 2009. Total visits per month were up 15 percent, while monthly unique visits were up 20 percent from 10 million to 12 million.
