What’s the first information you consume in the morning?
The first thing I do is check my phone for emails and text messages I have and then go to Twitter. I was kind of hesitant about Twitter at first, but it’s become a really good news source for me. A friend of mine, [model] Chrissy Teigen, is probably the best tweeter that I follow. She has zero filter and her tweets end up being really funny.

What do you read or watch or listen to at the breakfast table?
I’ll listen to the radio occasionally—either morning shows or sports radio like The Dan Patrick Show or [husband Andy Roddick’s] show with Bobby Bones on Fox Sports Radio.

What occupies your mind in the car, on the subway, train or bus?
Usually work—I’m either reading a script or listening to music, trying to get pumped up for an audition. I really love Mumford & Sons, and I’m very, very, very excited for their new album!

Are you a TV junkie, or on an airtime-restricted diet?
I don’t watch any TV, actually. Everything I do is online. When I do watch shows, I download a bunch of episodes to my iPad and watch them back-to-back. I’m too impatient to wait each week when a show is on. I recently watched the whole first season of American Horror Story, which is very scary but really good. And Friday Night Lights is one of my favorite shows of all time.

Before bed, do you bite into a novel, graze on Twitter or fast until morning?
I’ve been reading a ton lately—I go in phases. I just finished a book called One Second After and started a book called Eagle Blue: A Team, a Tribe, and a High School Basketball Season in Arctic Alaska. I took a trip to Alaska with the Sierra Club and had zero electricity for a week—no tech, no emailing, nothing.

What are your favorite blogs?
I love The Man Repeller—her writing is so funny. And I’m building a house right now, so I’m really into interior blogs, like Design*Sponge, Lonny and Elements of Style. Then I save pictures to my Pinterest account and all that. I’m definitely a child of technology.

Give us the skinny on your favorite app.
SongPop! I was really into games like Scramble With Friends and Words With Friends, and this is my new obsession. Basically, it’s like Name That Tune, and you play against friends.

With such a bloated media universe, how do you cut out the fat?
I hit the off button. I’m usually so immersed in media, so when I’m away from my computer, I just want to be outdoors or doing something physical. That’s why I make a conscious decision not to watch television. When I’m home, I just want to be home.
