Hulu Launches Ad-Supported Subscription Service

Hulu has launched a preview of Hulu Plus, its long-rumored ad-supported subscription service, which offers expanded content like past seasons of Glee and House.

The move creates a new revenue source for the online video joint venture of NBC Universal, News Corp. and Walt Disney, which has so far relied exclusively on ad money.

Hulu Plus will offer content not available on the free Hulu service, such as full current-season runs of hit TV programs like Glee, The Office and House, from ABC, Fox and NBC across multiple devices — computers, TVs, mobile phones and tablets — in HD quality, for $9.99
