Huffington Post Taps New CEO

LOS ANGELES The Huffington Post, whose bloggers include a slew of famous entertainers, said CEO Betsy Morgan would be replaced by Eric Hippeau, a managing partner of SoftBank Capital and former chief executive of Ziff-Davis.

Morgan joined the Huffington Post from CBS News 18 months ago. The company did not say why Morgan, who is also vacating her board seat, is leaving or whether she has a new job lined up.

Co-founded by Arianna Huffington as an online news and opinion source — sort of a left-wing answer to the right-leaning Drudge Report — the Huffington Post recently raised $25 million from Oak Investment Partners.

The company has worked closely with Hippeau since SoftBank Capital invested in it three years ago.
