Huffington Post Acquires Rights to Comedy site 236.com

The Huffington Post has acquired from IAC the rights to the comedy Web site 236.com, which will cease to exist a standalone Web site and business. According to officials, several assets of 236.com will be salvaged to be used to populate Huffingtonpost.com’s soon-to-launch comedy channel.

Officials at both companies declined to comment on the details of the transaction.  A sources said that Huffington Post was able to snatch up the remains of 23/6 for next to nothing, as IAC had planned to shut the site down completely.
