Here Are the Top Branded Instagram Videos of 2014

The Washington Post's panda was a surprise winner

The mobile social app has become big for marketers in the last 12 months.

Since debuting the weekly branded Instagram video charts several months ago, we've learned that marketers who were dedicated to this increasingly important social space were consistently the ones winning. That's why brands such as the National Basketball Association, BMW, Ellen and GoPro regularly beat out competitors in their categories.

But the end-of-the-year Adweek/Shareablee chart reveals some unlikely companies had big hits early in 2014 before our rankings were born. They included high-end fashion retailer Luisa Via Roma, The Steve Harvey Show, The Washington Post and Billabong, among others.

The multimedia infographic below features eight categories (auto, beauty, consumer electronics, retail, fashion, celebrity, sports leagues and TV shows), which appear every week. Two wild-card categories are always sprinkled in, and we've chosen movies and publications for this special end-of-year roundup.

Based on Instagram video likes and comments, here were the top brand performances of 2014 when it came to creating engagement on the burgeoning platform.
