Starting on Thursday (Oct. 28), the renowned psychosexual therapist and former Lifetime TV personality Dr. Ruth Westheimer will begin blogging for NBC Universal's boomer-aimed site Lifegoesstrong.com, covering topics such as sex and relationships for the 45-64 set.
Westheimer will also produce video content for the site, which launched in May as a joint venture between Digital Works@NBCU (formerly NBC Digital Networks) and Procter & Gamble Productions. Over the summer, the site rolled out several related vertical sites, including Healthgoesstrong.com, Familygoesstrong.com, Stylegoesstrong.com and Techgoesstrong.com
Devin Johnson, general manager of Digital Works@NBCU, expects that Westheimer's enduring popularity, along with her respected authority on adult sexuality, should help her connect to Lifegoesstrong's core audience. “The strong variety of voices and thought leaders showcased across Life Goes Strong speaks to boomers' diverse backgrounds and concerns,” he said. “[Her] unparalleled combination of expertise, wit and direct talk is sure to appeal to our audience on several levels.”
