DirecTV, Fox Reach Carriage Deal

Last-minute agreement prevents blackout

After the usual huffing and puffing in public, DirecTV and Fox Networks finally reached a carriage agreement about six hours before channels such as FX, Nat Geo, and 13 regional sports networks would have been blacked out on the satellite provider.

As an added bonus for both companies, the deal covers carriage for all News Corp. properties, including 27 local TV stations and Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, even though the deals for those were not due to expire for months.
