Crackle Preps 'Peacock' Promo

NEW YORK In order to promote its new high-concept summer series Dusty Peacock, Crackle.com, the guy-oriented video site from Sony Pictures Entertainment, is set to roll out eight episodes of the show in five days starting with four episodes on Monday.

The series is being produced by actor/comedian Kevin James along with Jeff Sussman, who helped craft James’ recent hit movie Paul Blart: Mall Cop; and Rock Reuben, an executive producer from James’ recent CBS sitcom The King of Queens. The show also stars James’ brother Gary Valentine as a less-than-successful stuntman.

Eight episodes of Peacock are scheduled to run this week: four on Monday, followed by one each day during the rest of the week. Each episode is roughly four-to-seven minutes in length.

Besides Crackle, the show, which also stars actor Nick Turturro (NYPD Blue) as Dusty’s brother, is being distributed on YouTube, MySpace, AOL, Bebo and Veoh, as well as mobile devices via Sprint TV and Web-connected Sony Bravia TVs.
