CBS Links Back-end Ops for CBSNews.com, News.com
CBS has begun integrating several of the back-end operations for both CBSNews.com and News.com, but both news sites will continue to publish independently despite rumors to the contrary, according to company officials.
As a result of the integration, several employees are being let go, though CBS has not disclosed official numbers. Executives said that the moves are aimed at streamlining both sites’ engineering, technical and infrastructural operations rather than their content output–and both sites will maintain their own editorial voices, designs and reporting staffs.
