CBS Cuts Ties With Source of False Steve Jobs Death Tweet

Shira Lazar, 'What's Trending' removed from CBSNews.com

Remember last week when the Twitter account of CBSNews.com series What’s Trending sent out a tweet that Steve Jobs had died? And then redacted it? (And seriously freaked out some of us?) Well, CBS isn’t pleased and is now trying to distance itself from the situation by cutting all ties with What’s Trending and its host and producer, Shira Lazar.

According to TVNewser, CBS has officially severed ties with Lazar on Friday and even went so far as to remove all material related to Lazar and What’s Trending—which is independently produced by Disrupt Group, co-founded by Lazar—from CBSNews.com.
