AOL Video President Ran Harnevo Is Leaving the Company

Former Viacom president Dermot McCormack set to step in

Ran Harnevo, the man widely considered to be the force behind AOL's massive video growth, announced on Tuesday that he is leaving the company to go back to what he loves: "being an entrepreneur, inventing shit."

According to re/code, AOL's video revenue was only about $10 million or more in 2010 when Harnevo joined the company. Today, it adds up to hundreds of millions. Just this past April at the Digital Content NewFront, AOL unveiled 16 new star-studded web series, featuring the likes of James Franco and Steve Buscemi.
