Amazon has been among the most popular holiday season e-retailers for passed-along Pinterest content, drawing more than 16,300 pins/shares a week since Thanksgiving, per Searchmetrics' research.
The German marketing vendor studied 10 name-brand online retailers and discovered that CEO Jeff Bezos' firm was dominating significant competitors. For instance, Apple ranked second best while averaging nearly three times fewer the number of pins/shares with 5,778.
Three-year-old Pinterest reportedly has 70 million users who collect photos, articles and other image-heavy content. The platform has grabbed the attention of retailers, which view it as a prime opportunity to inspire social commerce with the site's female-focused audience.
