About.com Turns to Celeb Contributors

About.com is taking a page out of the Huffington Post’s playbook by adding a group of celebrity contributors.

The general interest content site will this month begin featuring contributions from the likes of country star Faith Hill, actress Marlee Matlin and famed chef Wolfgang Puck. The celebs’  content will take the form of articles, videos, recipes and advice.

The move into celebrity driven-fare is something of a departure for The New York Times-owned property, which has for the most part relied on contributions from a network of nearly 800 mostly part-time editorial staffers known as About guides.
