Chicago media giant Tribune Co. has promoted several key executives in its corporate, development, marketing, technology and circulation areas.
Steve Gable, who had been senior vice president/chief technology officer since joining Tribune last year, was named executive vice president/ chief technology officer.
David Eldersveld, senior counsel/mergers and acquisitions since 2005, was named senior vice president/deputy counsel & corporate secretary.
Dan Kazan, who joined Tribune in 1998 as counsel for mergers and acquisitions and was named vice president/development in 2005, was promoted to senior vice president/development.
Naomi Sachs was named senior vice president/strategy. "Steve, Dave, Dan and Naomi are important players within the company and are an important part of Tribune's leadership team of the future," Gerry Spector, Tribune executive vice president/ chief administration officer, said in a prepared statement. "They are team players and are helping to drive essential change throughout Tribune -- change that makes us more innovative, more responsive to our customers and more efficient."
In addition, Tribune's publishing division announced the promotion of Vince Casanova to senior vice president/circulation, effective immediately.
Casanova has served as vice president/circulation since 2005, and has overseen a number of innovative printing and production changes at the company's newspapers that have "increased efficiency, expanded capacity and generated significant new revenue," the announcement said.
