Traditional Home Taps Brenner as Publisher

Meredith Corp. has tapped Beth Fuchs Brenner, vp, publisher of the erstwhile shelter magazine Domino, to be publisher of Traditional Home, effective April 26. Brenner replaces Debra Brandt, who is leaving the company.
 
Brenner oversaw the rise of the hip shelter magazine, which achieved a circulation of 850,000 in three years but like many shelter titles, couldn’t sustain its ad-page growth when the housing market collapsed.
 
Condé Nast seemed to give Domino a vote of confidence when it assigned the title to publishing director Bill Wackermann in January 2009, but ended up folding it two weeks later.
 
Since then, Brenner has been consulting to media brands, including Reader’s Digest.
 
“Beth is a proven leader whose background and experience in the affluent home and women’s lifestyle categories makes her ideally suited to lead the team at Traditional Home,” said Tom Harty, president, Meredith Consumer Magazines.
 
Trad Home’s ad pages declined 1.7 percent to 141 in the January-April period versus the year-ago period, per the Mediaweek Monitor. Brenner will be its third publisher in three years, following Brandt and Pam Daniels, whom Brandt replaced in 2007.
