Top Newsweek Editor Resigns

Former New Republic editor Richard Just will take over

Justine Rosenthal, the editor of Newsweek’s digital-only incarnation, Newsweek Global, is leaving the company, editor in chief Tina Brown announced in a staffwide memo that was published earlier today by Capital New York. Former New Republic editor Richard Just, who left TNR following its purchase by Chris Hughes and joined Newsweek as a consulting editor shortly thereafter, will replace her, while foreign editor Louise Roug will serve as his deputy.

Rosenthal first joined Newsweek in 2011 as a senior editor and was tapped to oversee the soon-to-be-sold magazine less than three months ago when then-editor Tunku Varadarajan stepped down.
