Time Inc. has chosen digital food portal MyRecipes as the first of its brands to get a dedicated Roku channel.
The MyRecipes channel, which includes more than 250 videos in 12 categories, will be free for users of all current-generation Roku players in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Ireland. MyRecipes is one of the top five food destinations on the web, according to ComScore, and includes content from Time Inc.’s roster of lifestyle brands, including Cooking Light, Food & Wine, Southern Living and more.
“We want to connect with consumers wherever they are consuming video content and Roku is a leader in streaming entertainment,” said Time Inc. svp of video J.R. McCabe, in a statement. “MyRecipes is the perfect brand to launch this new partnership with its wealth of content and passionate audience base.”
The publisher unveiled its distribution partnership with Roku at its inaugural NewFronts presentation last month, where an emphasis was placed on expanding the company’s digital video audience.
Time Inc. launched its digital video unit last year with a list of distribution partners including AOL On Network, Alloy Digital, NewsLook and NDN. At the NewFronts, the company announced that it had also struck partnerships with Roku, Daily Motion, Ulive and Net2TV.
