Rupert Murdoch has reportedly filed for divorce from Wendi Deng, his wife of 14 years. A spokesperson for News Corp. confirmed the story in a tweet.
The announcement was made for maximum transparency in advance of the official News Corp. split, set for June 28.
A divorce petition was filed today in New York Supreme Court. According to Deadline, the divorce will not impact Murdoch’s media holdings.
“The relationship between the husband and wife has broken down irretrievably for a period of more than six months,” the filing read.
