Rodale Exec Jumps to Tabloid Publisher AMI

Fills new post created to manage growth

National Enquirer publisher American Media Inc. is doing some more top-level poaching, this time from Rodale.

Samantha Irwin was a 22-year vet of the health and fitness publisher, most recently serving as ad business director for Men's Health and Women's Health. At AMI, she becomes vp, general manager, a new position.

AMI traditionally hasn't had much in the way of corporate staff, but chairman David Pecker said that the company’s growing digital, international, publishing services and book divisions warranted the position.

“We have a $400 million company,” he said.
