After formally resigning from yet another four directorships—bringing the grand total to 23—Rebekah Brooks appears to have finally severed all ties with News Corp., says the Guardian’s Roy Greenslade.
Brooks is still listed as a director of the PA Group, which oversees the Press Association, but a spokeswoman for the group says that Brooks’ official resignation form was processed yesterday and sent to the U.K. Companies House. Tom Mockridge, her successor at News International, has been nominated to replace her.
Brooks also still holds the honorary fellowship given to her last July by the University of the Arts London, her alma mater. Students and academics at the university have demanded that Brooks’ honorary degree be revoked in light of her involvement in the News of the World scandal, but the university said that it would be “inappropriate” to take any action or to comment “while police investigations are ongoing.”
The university did, however, take down pictures of the ceremony honoring Brooks from its website after the scandal broke last month.
