NYDN's Gittrich Jumps to NBC Local Media
Gregory Gittrich, assistant managing editor of news for the New York Daily News, has jumped to NBC Local Media as national news editor for digital platforms. Gittrich’s first day will be June 11.
Gittrich is the latest in a string of new hires at NBC’s local media digital group, which is looking to ramp up its coverage of local news and information.
In his new position, Gittrich will oversee local news and information for the group’s digital platforms, which include the TV station local Web sites, widgets, syndicated offerings and mobile applications.
“Not only does he heave great knowledge of the local news landscape, but he also understand the best way to tailor that coverage to the appropriate digital platform in a way that resonates with our consumers wherever they may be,” said Brian Buchwald, senior vp of local integrated media.
