Epicurious editor in chief Nilou Motamed has been let go less than a year after she was hired by Condé Nast to take the online recipe hub in a more lifestyle-focused direction. A spokesperson for the company confirmed that yesterday was Motamed’s last day with the brand.
Motamed, the former features director and senior correspondent at Travel + Leisure, joined Epicurious general manager Carolyn Kremins last October to oversee a complete revamp of the brand. The goal was to make the recipe-centric site (and its popular app) into a lifestyle destination with an emphasis on culture and travel content.
