National Magazine Award Finalists Announced

Condé Nast leads with 26 nods, NatGeo scores 7

The American Society of Magazine Editors has released its list of finalists for the 2013 National Magazine Awards—also known as the “Ellies” for the elephant-shaped statuette winners receive.

Condé Nast was, by far, the most-lauded publisher with a total of 26 nominations. Hearst and Time Inc. tied in second place with nine finalists each. Among single titles, National Geographic racked up the most nominations, with a total of seven nods. Bon Appétit and New York followed with six nominations each, while GQ and The New Yorker tied with five nominations apiece.
