The AOL Huffington Post Media Group announced today the launch of two new sites: HuffPost Celebrity, “a lively mix of real-time entertainment news, opinion and gossip,” and HuffPost Culture, which will cover “a wide span of the arts, from theater and film to music and dance.”
In a statement, Arianna Huffington said, “We've always offered a take on celebrity and culture that is a fun, high/low mix that reflects our users' diverse range of interests and desire for comprehensive entertainment news delivered in real time. Creating these two new destination sites will allow us to both expand and deepen our coverage.”
HuffPost Celebrity, which goes live today, gives an “insider-y look at entertainment and celebrity,” and features a syndication platform offering entertainment news and blog posts from HuffPost’s partner sites, as well as original reporting and posts from “industry insiders and celebrities.”
HuffPost Culture, launching on Wednesday, will be “a forum for discussion of arts and culture.” The site will feature series like “Strange Bedfellows,” which follows unexpected collaborations between artists, as well as playlists from musicians and DJs, and “best of the year so far” lists. HuffPost Culture will also syndicate content from partner sites like the soon-to-be-revamped Moviefone.
