Former Gawker Editor Lands at Newsweek

Is Newsweek getting some snark? Gabriel Snyder, who was fired earlier this year as editor of Gawker, was named digital executive editor for Newsweek, one of the very mainstream media companies for which Gawker was a regular source of pain.

In an announcement, Newsweek editor Jon Meacham and editorial director Mark Miller said Snyder “helped transform Gawker from a guilty pleasure for a Manhattan-centric audience to a vibrant source of real news and information, doubling Gawker’s audience.”
