Discover Magazine Finds Buyer
Discover magazine has been acquired by privately held Kalmbach Publishing, which will add the science title to its stable of 16 special-interest publications, including Astronomy.
Henry Donahue, its CEO and publisher, will leave the company by the end of the year after a transition period.
The 700,000-circulation Discover becomes Kalmbach’s biggest title, supplanting Astronomy, which has a circulation of 140,000.
“It’s a strategic fit,” Donahue said. “We definitely think there are Astronomy advertisers that we could bring into Discover.
