Condé Nast Names McEwen Publisher of Self

Condé Nast has moved to fill the publisher role at Self in the wake of Kim Kelleher’s departure for Time Inc., naming Laura McEwen to the post.

McEwen moves to the 1.5 million circ Self from the 1 million circ Teen Vogue, where she has been vp, publisher since February 2008. Before that, she was associate publisher at Vogue.

In making the announcement, Condé Nast president and CEO Chuck Townsend cited McEwen’s success in extending the Teen Vogue brand to retail, licensing, mobile and other platforms, pointing to a growing area of focus for the company as it looks to offset traditional print ad revenue declines.
