Circ Report: November 30, 2009
Bon Appétit is often described as more recipe-driven and accessible than the more upscale Gourmet, which Condé Nast folded with the November issue.
But the most recent Mediamark Research & Intelligence numbers reveal Bon App has the richest readers in the measured set, with a median household income of $91,849—21.2 percent higher than Gourmet’s HHI of $81,179 (per the spring MRI, when it was last measured).
Food & Wine was a close second with a median HHI of $87,892 and Cooking Light third at $83,314. Saveur isn’t MRI-measured, but it claims to be prototyped at a median HHI of $104,381. Bon App’s median reader age, at 48.4, is slightly younger than Gourmet’s (50.3). EDWRR has the youngest median age (40.7), followed by Everyday Food (44.2).
